In Place, 2021
This series of long-exposure, color photographs captured during the COVID-19 pandemic. Confined to my apartment, I transformed my bathroom into a camera obscura, projecting the external world onto myself and my surroundings. This immersive experience allowed me to explore themes of isolation, introspection, and the passage of time.
The resulting images capture the ethereal and dreamlike quality of this solitary existence. The long-exposure technique blurs the distinction between the figure and the ground, creating a sense of unity with the outside world. Through this series, I invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences of isolation and to consider the ways in which we can find meaning and connection, even in the most challenging of times.
