The following are samples of work from my current and past student publications.
Working with an array of students, I have developed a variety of pedagogical techniques designed to stimulate the art classroom and prepare students for a successful future in the arts. In my Intermediate Digital Photography class, the students create a theme-based print-on-demand book project that mimics real world professional production. This project teaches the students to edit and prepare their own images for a professional outside printer, to collaborate as a group to develop the theme and format of the book and to professionally present their self-directed projects. The work is then included in an exhibition, further educating the students on how to organize, curate, install and promote their work. Combined with the full course content, this project prepares students for the critical review process and helps them to build the skills to organize and submit their work for professional and academic opportunities.
